13 Ways to Make Money Online & Create Your Own Income Streams

There really has never been as much opportunity to work for yourself, create your dream work / life balance and be in absolute control of your own income. If you want to work for yourself or are looking for other ways to create income around your existing business - here are 13 ideas to get you started (although we can think of 100 more).  

1. Completing Surveys. There are plenty of companies constantly looking for feedback and market research, who offer rewards in exchange for completing their surveys. Surveys are not a new phenomenon and have been around for years. Site Survey Spotter is an easy site that gives you access to a large selection of surveys that you can complete. A great activity to do in your spare time. 
2. Online Content Creation. Create digital content that you can sell online. Everyone has a skill or talent that they can share. Whether it’s specialist skills from employment or something they have built a business around. Why not share this with other people who can benefit from your insight? You can do this by writing articles, creating ebooks, guides, tutorials or online courses. Find companies that will pay for these articles or start off creating content for free, with a view to create information products around the topics further down the line. 
3. Create a Blog. Many people use a blog to express their views or share their journey. Others will use it to create an income stream. Either way you need to have a long term vision for it so that you start with the vision in mind. If you’re creating valuable content that people actually want to read - you’ll be able to create information products in the same niche that they want to buy. 
4. Become an Affiliate. This is a great idea if you are setting up your own blog or even for your website. Initially the world of affiliate marketing can seem overwhelming, but it really is a straightforward as picking QUALITY products that work with your niche and promoting them through your blog or website and to your social media following and email list. It’s a great way to earn income from products that you did not create. There are plenty of affiliate sites such as Clickbank and JVzoon that host a wide range of affiliate products ready for you to start promoting. 
5. Become a YouTuber. Plenty of people earn a huge income from YouTube. Again it’s a great place to share knowledge, content, skills and insight. It’s also a great place to entertain. Whichever way you want to use it, whether it’s to educate or entertain, if you build up enough of a following you can certainly use it to create income through advertising or selling your own products. 
6. Become a freelancer. With sites like Fiverr and Upwork exploding in popularity and being used by businesses and entrepreneurs around the globe, it’s become even easier to sell your skills and get exposure for some freelance work. If you’ve ever considered this as something you want to do - now is a great time to do so!
7. Create a Membership Site. If you already have an audience interested in what you are offering, consider setting up a membership site. People are already visiting your site and reading your content, so why not create premium content that will encourage them into a paid subscription - which will give you recurring monthly income (which is unlimited - as you can leverage the internet to provide access to customers all over the world!) and will give your audience even more of what they already want and need. This is a great alternative for customers not ready, willing or able to pay for what they deem to be expensive courses, but still need more help and guidance. 
8. Publish a Book. Writing and publishing a book is easier today than it ever has been. If you’ve ever dreamed about becoming an author or know that you have valuable information that thousands would benefit from - consider it. Using freelancer sites you can get help with all aspects of writing a book - from research, to book covers and even ghost writers. You can easily publish it yourself and sites like Amazon make it very easy to sell. 
9. Audio Book. If you want to publish your own book - it’s definitely worth turning it into an audio book. People have different preferences and some people (like me) will buy both. This will give you access to a larger audience, creating even more income from the content that has already been created and will also result in a number double purchases. 
10. Email Marketing. The money is in the list! If you have a business already, you should have a list. And if you have a list, you don’t need me to tell you that you should be regularly marketing to that list.  You don’t have to just promote your own products, you can also use it to promote affiliate products that your list will be interested in and thank you for it, while you make a residual income. Just make sure you don’t spend the whole time selling without adding value - or you will see a sharp increase in Unsubscribers!
11. Buy and Sell Domain Names. You can buy domains and sell them on for a markup. It’s a pretty straightforward process and quite easy to do - just make sure you pick the right types of domains and ones that are likely to be popular. You can use tools like Just Dropped to purchase the domains and then relist them. Wait for buyers and then sell at a profit. 
12. Become an Amazon Seller (FBA). Who doesn’t buy from Amazon these days? They have made it incredibly easy and convenient to buy from them more than any other retailer. And so we do. So what better time than now, to sell on this monster site? Using Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) means that you can even send all of your stock to Amazon to distribute for you so you don’t need to. After the initial set up, this becomes one of the most passive ways to run an ecommerce business. 
13. Become a Virtual Assistant. If you enjoy admin, have a broad range of skills and are organised and a great planner - you would be in huge demand as a VA. This would put you in control of how much you earn and how long you work. Businesses all around the world are crying out for VA’s to support their business and it’s a firm favourite these days over hiring a bank of staff. 

As you can see, opportunities really aren’t limited and we really do have the world as our Oyster. There are SO many ways to make an income for yourself, so if you are in a job that you hate or are looking for additional income streams - you have plenty of options! Get creative and be open minded.
